This project aimed to identify and map influential women in Oromia, particularly in Shashemanne, Ambo, Nekemte, and Gimbi. Recognizing the disproportionate impact of armed conflicts on women, a coalition of women-led and women-based Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Ethiopia issued a strong call for sustained peace negotiations and the inclusion of women in peace talks with armed groups. The organizations emphasized that the exclusion of women from previous negotiations, including the Pretoria Agreement and the two rounds of talks in Tanzania, is a matter of grave concern.
